PANews reported on February 13 that Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett tweeted that as digital assets become a regulatory focus, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are exploring ways to strengthen cooperation in cryptocurrency regulation. One of the options discussed is to reactivate the CFTC-SEC Joint Advisory Committee established in 2010, which aims to coordinate the supervision of emerging markets between the two sides, but has been stagnant since 2014. CFTC Acting Chairwoman Caroline Pham called for reform of the committee last year, believing that this move would be a new signal of regulatory cooperation in the U.S. crypto market.
