PANews reported on May 14 that according to France 24, French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau announced that he would convene a meeting of the country's cryptocurrency industry this Friday to deal with the recent frequent kidnapping cases related to crypto companies. This decision followed an attempted kidnapping in Paris on May 13, in which the daughter and grandson of a French crypto entrepreneur were attacked by four masked gangsters on the street, but fortunately they escaped with minor injuries . It is reported that the woman is the daughter of the co-founder and CEO of Paymium, a French crypto trading platform. In recent years, there have been many kidnapping cases related to crypto wealth in France, including the kidnapping and torture of Ledger co-founder David Balland in January this year.
“We will work with crypto entrepreneurs to discuss security measures and make them more aware of the risks,” Retailleau said, adding that criminals will be tracked down at all costs, “even if they have fled overseas.”
