PANews reported on April 16 that according to CNBC, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal received a class action lawsuit accusing Google of abusing its "near-total dominance" in the search market to restrict competitors and drive up advertising costs. The lawsuit was filed by legal scholar Or Brook on behalf of British organizations that have used Google's search advertising services since January 1, 2011, with a claim amount of more than 5 billion pounds. The lawsuit stated that Google suppressed its competitors by reaching agreements with mobile phone manufacturers and Apple and restricting the functions of competitive advertising tools, and was suspected of illegally manipulating the market.
