PANews reported on February 11 that according to Cointelegraph, Tether has selected Arbitrum as the infrastructure provider for its new cross-chain USD stablecoin USDT0. According to the announcement on February 11, Arbitrum One will serve as the main hub to connect USDt on Ethereum, TRON, TON and Celo to the newly created USDT0.
Specifically, Arbitrum's Legacy Mesh technology will provide a native solution for transferring USDt between these major chains. Steven Goldfeder, CEO of Arbitrum developer Offchain Labs, said that Legacy Mesh technology provides users and developers with "access to deep and liquid markets regardless of which blockchain they use," and that this new solution will promote "wider adoption of USDt" while improving the scalability of stablecoins across networks.
Tether launched USDT0 in partnership with LayerZero on January 16. The cross-chain stablecoin was first deployed on Ink, the scaling solution of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken.
