PANews reported on April 30 that according to Bitcoin.com, the biometric encryption ID project World Network (formerly Worldcoin) launched the "Build Latam" plan in Latin America, which will allocate 1 million WLD tokens (about 4.8 million US dollars) to 15 regional projects to promote its iris biometrics and digital identity system. The project was first launched in Argentina, where more than 2.2 million residents have completed iris verification through Orb devices, making it one of the regions with the highest participation in the world.

Martin Mazza, Worldcoin’s Latin American regional manager, revealed that since October last year, the project has used “anonymous multi-party computing” (AMPC) technology to enhance data security, storing user biometric data in shards in databases managed by different universities. Mazza emphasized that user verification rewards are only issued in the form of WLD tokens, which give holders network governance rights.
