Gate Focus: PayFi Presents Three Major Events During Bitcoin Asia

Gate will actively participate in three key financial technology events during the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong from August 28 to 30, 2025, focusing on payment innovation and stablecoin integration.

  • Hong Kong PayFi Night (Aug 28): Co-hosted with stablecoin issuer First Digital, this event will explore Hong Kong’s regulatory developments and market opportunities in stablecoins and Real-World Assets (RWAs). It will feature industry leaders from Gate, First Digital, FOMO Pay, Acwire, and major payment firms like LianLian Pay and Huawei Cloud.

  • Hong Kong Stablecoin Summit (Aug 29): Gate Business Head Edwin Cheung will join a forum hosted by Google Cloud to discuss global stablecoin trends, including technological advances and policy frameworks, alongside senior industry experts and academics.

  • Hong Kong Cross-border Payment Closed-door Summit (Aug 30): In collaboration with GreenPay and MetaEra, Edwin Cheung will share insights on stablecoins as strategic assets and new competitive areas for exchanges. This session will address challenges and opportunities in cross-border payments, regulatory compliance, and international policy shifts.

These events underscore Gate’s commitment to advancing the convergence of payment systems and cryptocurrency, fostering industry collaboration, and promoting the adoption of blockchain and digital assets in global finance.

Summary

On August 28, 2025, during the Bitcoin Asia event in Hong Kong, Gate will co-host the "Hong Kong PayFi Night" with First Digital, a Hong Kong-based stablecoin issuer. The event will focus on Hong Kong's latest regulatory regime and market opportunities, and delve into the industry's development in the era of stablecoins and RWAs.

The event will bring together important guests from the payment and blockchain fields, including Gate Business Head Edwin Cheung, First Digital CEO Vincent Chok, FOMO Pay Founder Zack Yang, Acwire Founder Sean Hung, as well as executives from 12 payment companies including LianLian Pay, Ruizhi Technology, BlockSec, and Huawei Cloud.

Through this conversation, Gate not only demonstrated its long-term layout and in-depth thinking on the direction of PayFi, but also once again released its firm determination to promote the integration of payment and encryption.

At the same time, Gate will also be invited to attend the "Hong Kong Stablecoin Summit Forum" hosted by Google Cloud on August 29. Edwin Cheung will be a guest and share the "Global Dialogue on Stablecoins from Technology to Policy" with senior industry practitioners and university professors.

On August 30th, Gate will also participate in the "Hong Kong Cross-border Payment Closed-Door Summit Forum" hosted by GreenPay and MetaEra. Edwin Cheung will share his views on the theme of "Stablecoins: Strategic Assets and New Battlegrounds for Exchanges." As a key player in the industry, Gate will have in-depth exchanges with core executives in the payment and fintech fields, focusing on the new opportunities and challenges brought about by payment innovation, compliance supervision, and international policy changes.

Both forums will focus on stablecoin innovation, cross-border payment trends, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies, highlighting the convergence and transformation of payments and fintech.
