PANews reported on May 16 that according to the official website, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued FAQs to clarify how broker-dealer and transfer agent rules apply to crypto assets and distributed ledger technology. Commissioner Peirce said the guidance covers custody rules, the creation of cryptocurrency ETFs in kind (i.e. in the form of crypto assets), and tokenized securities, calling it a "progressive step" forward.
