PANews reported on May 16 that the OpenAI team announced in a live broadcast the launch of a research preview of the cloud-based software engineering agent Codex, powered by codex-1. ChatGPT Pro, Team, and Enterprise users are now online, and Plus users will be online soon. Users can access Codex through the sidebar, assign coding tasks to it, and check execution through references, terminal logs, and test results. Codex will be free to use in the next few weeks, and will introduce speed-limited access and flexible pricing plans in the future.
