PANews reported on October 24 that the Uniswap Foundation announced a $1.2 million grant to Areta to establish the Uniswap Foundation Security Fund, which aims to enhance the security of the Uniswap v4 hook developer community. This fund will create a competitive market, simplify the process of obtaining security audits, reduce costs, and help small projects afford high-quality audit services.
Key features of the fund include streamlining the audit process, providing transparent and competitive pricing, and subsidizing up to 100% of audit fees. Areta will roll out the program in phases over six months, starting with two months to screen and whitelist security audit providers, followed by four months to manage the subsidy application and audit matching process.
Areta said that this move will ensure the innovation of the Uniswap v4 protocol is safe and reliable, and further support the development of the DeFi ecosystem. Security service providers can apply to join the whitelist from October 25, and the details of the project subsidy application will be announced later.
