PANews reported on February 13 that according to Fortune, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that since Trump took office as president, there has been a "change in atmosphere" in the relationship between Silicon Valley and Washington, and called the new government's pro-tech policies "fresh air." Altman criticized the Biden administration for being unfriendly to the technology industry and supported Trump's low-regulation policies.

Altman has changed from criticizing Trump for "inciting racial discrimination and conspiracy theories" in the early days to publicly supporting him and donating $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund. He also jointly announced the $500 billion AI infrastructure plan Stargate with Trump, emphasizing that the US technology industry can now revive semiconductor manufacturing, robot factories and data centers.

The tech industry as a whole is moving closer to the Trump administration, including Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai and Tim Cook all attending Trump's January inauguration. In addition, Meta has canceled third-party fact-checking, cut DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) programs, and promoted a "masculine culture", which is seen as a move to improve relations with the Trump administration.
