PANews reported on May 5 that according to Protos, Worldcoin seems to have exaggerated the number of its controversial iris scans and there may be a data error of 14 million. According to data disclosed by the official World X account, the number of World IDs has exceeded 26.1 million, but the World official website shows that the number of "unique humans" is 12.35 million, a difference of about 14 million.

Analysts believe that World confused the number of World IDs issued through scanning with the number of users who simply registered for the World App. As of now, World's parent company Tools for Humanity has not responded to the data error.
