PANews reported on May 15 that according to CoinDesk, Bee Maps, a project under Solana's decentralized map network Hivemapper, announced a partnership with Lyft, the online car-hailing giant, to provide it with real-time updated road data. The partnership marks the beginning of the adoption of crowdsourced map solutions driven by blockchain incentives by shared travel companies. Hivemapper collects real-time road information (such as construction areas, traffic sign changes, etc.) through AI dashcams, and contributors receive crypto rewards. Bee Maps, as its application layer, uses AI to process these crowdsourced data and continuously updates high-precision maps. This partnership comes as another Solana ecosystem map project, NATIX, announces a similar partnership with the ride-hailing service Grab.
