PANews reported on May 15 that according to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, a bipartisan group of senators is close to reaching a consensus on the text of the stablecoin GENIUS Act after days of intense renegotiation, which may allow the bill to continue. However, the text has not yet been finalized. Senate leadership is discussing the procedural path to resume review of the GENIUS Act, including amendment procedures and reconsideration motions. The goal (which may change) is to hold a final vote before the May 26 recess and before the start of the reconciliation process, but the timetable may be delayed depending on whether a procedural agreement can be reached with the Democrats.
