PANews reported on April 17 that according to Bloomberg, Global Payments spent $ 24.25 billion to acquire all shares of payment giant Worldpay, of which 45% came from FIS and 55% from private equity firm GTCR. As part of the transaction, FIS will acquire Global Payments' issuance solutions business with a corporate valuation of $13.5 billion. GTCR will complete the sale with 59% cash and 41% stock consideration, and will hold a 15% stake in Global Payments after the merger and continue to participate in future strategic development. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
