PANews reported on January 13 that according to Cointelegraph, Phala Network announced that it has launched the first Op-Succinct Layer 2 rollup technology on Ethereum, combining the Optimistic Rollup framework with zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs). Phala's rollup technology is built on the Op-Succinct framework developed in cooperation with Succinct Labs and Conduit. This rollup technology is the first technology that successfully integrates Ethereum's OP Stack with ZKPs and goes online on the mainnet.

By leveraging Succinct's SP1 zkVM, the rollup technology achieves first-class zkEVM compatibility, ensuring full equivalence with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), while significantly reducing transaction finalization time from seven days to a few hours. With Conduit's Rollups-as-a-Service platform, Phala was able to quickly deploy rollup technology, avoiding the need for expensive custom infrastructure development.

Phala said that the integration with Ethereum introduced its TEE cloud computing service, a move that also transforms Ethereum into a hub for verifiable AI applications such as ElizaOS and Spore.fun. Ethereum developers are now able to build autonomous AI agents, verifiable computing platforms, and decentralized AI infrastructure while benefiting from the security and scalability brought by Phala's Op-Succinct rollup technology.
