PANews reported on April 24 that according to Cointelegraph, the U.S. prosecutors submitted 206 victim statements to the Manhattan court, accusing former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky of fraud. These 418-page statements revealed that many users invested their life savings in the platform because they trusted it, and ultimately suffered huge losses. Mashinsky has pleaded guilty and may face up to 30 years in prison. Although some voices advocated leniency, most victims demanded severe punishment. The prosecutor's final sentencing recommendation will be submitted on April 24.
