After studying 43 Pre-TGE projects on Kaito, we found the development trend of current Crypto projects

  • AI Dominates Crypto Trends: AI is the most crowded track among 43 Pre-TGE projects, with 11 projects (25.5%) focusing on AI-specific Layer1 blockchains, DeFi Agents (DeAI), and AI infrastructure. Top-funded projects include @0G_labs ($75M), @AlloraNetwork ($32.5M), and @campnetworkxyz ($29M).

  • Layer1 Blockchain Evolution: High-performance and verticalized Layer1 projects are thriving, with 10 projects (23.2%). Examples include AI-customized chains (@0G_labs, @Mira_Network) and data-focused chains (@irys_xyz).

  • Full-Chain Applications Rise: 8 projects (18.6%) emphasize multi-chain interoperability, such as @Calderaxyz (custom Rollups) and @infinex (multi-chain finance).

  • Layer2 Specialization: General-purpose Layer2s are declining, while verticalized solutions (e.g., DeFi-focused @katana and high-performance @megaeth_labs) gain traction.

  • Bitcoin Ecosystem Niche: Only 4 Bitcoin-related projects remain, like @GOATRollup (BTC yield ZK-Rollup) and @PortaltoBitcoin (cross-chain infrastructure).

  • ZK Tech in Early Stages: 3 projects focus on ZK infrastructure, including @SuccinctLabs (proof services) and @union_build (interoperability).

  • Classic Tracks Fade: GameFi, SocialFi, DID, and DePIN projects are marginalized, with only 1–2 examples (e.g., @LumiterraGame for GameFi, @Humanityprot for DID).

  • Funding Trends: Layer1, AI, and full-chain projects dominate funding, led by @monad_xyz ($244M), @0G_labs ($75M), and @infinex ($65.3M).

Summary: The crypto project landscape is shifting toward AI, verticalized Layer1/Layer2 solutions, and full-chain interoperability, while older niches decline. A new cycle emerges, driven by high-funded, specialized innovations.

Author: ABC Alpha researcher @cyrus_g3

In order to study the evolution trend of current Crypto projects, we need some currently active projects that have not yet TGE as research objects. Therefore, we used the Pre-TGE projects on the InfoFi platform @KaitoAI as basic data for analysis.

We found some interesting data from the 43 Pre-TGE projects, and also roughly saw the mainstream direction and evolution trend of the current Crypto projects. In the end, we sorted out 8 small trends, which will be introduced one by one below. The basic information of the 43 Pre-TGE projects is attached at the end of the article.

1. The most crowded track is AI

There are 11 projects in total, accounting for 25.5%, namely:

@0G_labs, @AlloraNetwork, @campnetworkxyz, @hyperbolic_labs, @Mira_Network, @Novastro_xyz, @NetworkNoya, @OpenledgerHQ

@symphonyio, @TheoriqAI, @wardenprotocol

AI track projects are developing in a diverse manner, mainly including three categories: AI-specific Layer1 blockchain, DeAI (DeFi Agent), and AI infrastructure.

Among them, the largest amount of financing and the largest number of projects are "AI-specific Layer1 blockchain projects", and the top three financing amounts are:

@0G_labs 75M

@AlloraNetwork 32.5M

@campnetworkxyz 29M

2. The Layer 1 blockchain track is still lively, and shows a trend of high performance and verticalization

There are 10 Layer 1 blockchain projects in total, accounting for 23.2%, second only to AI projects.

High-performance Layer 1, 3 in total

@FogoChain @monad_xyz @Somnia_Network

Layer 1 customized for AI, 6 in total

@0G_labs, @AlloraNetwork, @campnetworkxyz, @Mira_Network

@OpenledgerHQ, @wardenprotocol

Dedicated data class Layer1: 1 in total

@irys_xyz

3. Full-chain application becomes a trend

There are 8 full-chain infrastructure and application projects, accounting for 18.6%

Web3 OS that supports multi-chain deployment of dApps: @anoma,

Customized Rollup platform and seamless cross-chain interoperability @Calderaxyz

One-stop multi-chain financial platform: @infinex

Programmable multi-chain liquidity network @MitosisOrg

Multi-chain yield protocol supporting multiple types of assets @multiplifi

AI-driven multi-chain RWAFi protocol @Novastro_xyz

Unified liquidity layer for cross-chain currency markets @0xSoulProtocol

ZK-driven full-chain interoperability protocol @union_build

4. General Layer 2 is disappearing, and vertical Layer 2 is emerging

Layer2 supporting EVM and SVM: @EclipseFND

Focusing on Layer2 of DeFi ecosystem: @katana @tradeparadex

High-performance Ethereum L2 that can parallelize computational tasks: @megaeth_labs

5. Bitcoin ecosystem projects still exist, but the number has been greatly reduced, with a total of 4

Bitcoin ZK-Rollup that provides BTC yields @GOATRollup

Bringing BTC to multi-chain DeFi protocols @Lombard_Finance

Bitcoin cross-chain infrastructure without custody @PortaltoBitcoin

Bitcoin Universal Yield Layer @satlayer

6. ZK track is still in the infrastructure and technical service stage, a total of 3

A general ZK protocol built on RISC Zero @boundless_xyz

Providing ZK proof infrastructure for applications @SuccinctLabs

Providing ZK support for full chain interoperability protocols @union_build

7. Classic track projects such as GameFi, SocialFi, DID, and Depin have been greatly reduced and are showing a marginalization trend

Among the 42 projects we surveyed: only 1.5 GameF projects, one of which is the multiplayer online on-chain Farm adventure game @LumiterraGame. Another is the on-chain gambling game market @yeet that uses cryptocurrency payments, which is half of GameFi;

1 SocialFi project integrated with Meme Launchpad @MemeX_MRC20

1 DID protocol based on human palm prints @Humanityprot

1 Depin project that uses idle computing power for mining @theblessnetwork

GameFi, SocialFi, DID, and Depin, which were once very popular in the last cycle, have gradually declined, once again showing the strong cyclicality of the Crypto industry.

8. The tracks with the highest financing amounts are Layer1, AI, and full chain

These three tracks basically represent the main development trends of current Crypto projects

The top project in terms of financing amount is the high-performance Layer1 blockchain project @monad_xyz, which has raised a total of 224M

Supported by leading institutions such as Paradigm, Dragonfly, Wintermute, etc.

The top 2 project in terms of financing amount is the AI-specific blockchain project @0G_labs, which has raised a total of 75M

Supported by leading institutions such as Hack vc, Delphi Digita, OKX Ventures, etc.

The top 3 project in terms of financing amount is the one-stop multi-chain financial platform @infinex, which has raised a total of 65.3M

Backed by Wintermute, Framework Ventures, Solana Ventures and other leading institutions

Summarize

From the survey of 42 Pre-TGE projects on @KaitoAI, we have summarized 8 small trends. We can roughly see that both Layer 1 and Layer 2 are showing a vertical trend. A large amount of financing is concentrated at the vertical Layer 1 and Layer 2 levels. AI blockchain is the hottest track, and the full chain is the mainstream trend of chains and applications. A large number of classic tracks are gradually declining, and a new round of Crypto cycle is emerging.
