Wuhan police cracked a new type of virtual currency fraud case called "Double Coin" and successfully recovered 200,000 yuan in losses

PANews reported on May 21 that according to the public account of Ping An Wuhan, the Qingshan District police in Wuhan City recently cracked a virtual currency trading fraud case using the "coin-scraping" method. The suspects Ye and Li lied that they had not received the virtual currency after the victim Mr. Liu transferred it, attempting to refuse to pay 200,000 yuan. After technical verification and evidence presentation by the Cyber Security Brigade, the two finally confessed to the fraud and have been detained. The funds involved have been fully recovered. The police reminded that virtual currency trading is an illegal financial activity and is not protected by law.

It is reported that "剁币" is a new type of virtual currency fraud method. Its core is that after completing the virtual currency transfer, the recipient pretends that he has not received it and refuses to fulfill the payment obligation, so as to achieve the purpose of defrauding the other party's assets.
