US stocks opened lower, with Meta down 11% at the open.

PANews reported on October 29th that the three major U.S. stock indexes opened lower, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.5%, the S&P 500 down 0.5%, and the Nasdaq Composite down 0.7%. Meta Platforms (META.O) plunged 11%, with Q3 profits significantly reduced due to a one-time tax expense; the company plans to raise at least $25 billion through a bond issuance. Alphabet (GOOGL.O) rose 5.3%, with Q3 results exceeding expectations. Nvidia (NVDA.O) fell 0.8%, and Microsoft (MSFT.O) fell 1.7%.
