PANews reported on September 3rd that, according to GlobeNewswire, AlphaTON Capital (formerly Portage Biotech, Nasdaq: ATON) announced that it will acquire approximately $100 million in Toncoin (TON) through private equity financing and a loan from BitGo, and establish a corporate treasury for the TON digital asset. The company will focus on TON token reserves, network verification, and ecosystem project incubation, promoting the development of Telegram's ecosystem applications. Brittany Kaiser will serve as CEO, and Enzo Villani as Executive Chairman. The company has already entered into strategic partnerships with BitGo, Animoca Brands, Kraken, and others, and its stock will launch under the new ticker symbol "ATON" on September 4th.
