A senior Iranian source said the United States has agreed to lift the freeze on Iranian assets held in Qatar and other foreign banks.

PANews reported on April 11 that, according to Jinshi News, a senior Iranian source stated that the United States has agreed to lift the freeze on Iranian assets "held in Qatar and other foreign banks." Iran views this as a test of goodwill and a demonstration of sincerity from all parties committed to reaching a lasting peace agreement. Before any lasting peace agreement is reached, the unfreezing of assets is also "directly related to ensuring the safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz."
