A lucky independent Bitcoin miner won a $210,000 reward for mining a block with a 1 in 28,000 chance.

PANews reported on April 6th that, according to The Block, an independent Bitcoin miner using CKpool successfully mined block 943,411 on Thursday, earning a reward of approximately $210,000. This is the 312th independently mined block since CKpool's launch in 2014. The miner received a reward of 3.139 BTC with a hashrate of approximately 230 TH/s, including a 3.125 BTC block subsidy and 0.014 BTC (approximately $937) in transaction fees. CKpool developer Con Kolivas stated that the probability of finding a block with such hashrate is only 1 in 28,000 per day.

This marks the first time an independent miner has successfully mined Bitcoin on CKpool since February 28th, ending a 33-day hiatus. Statistics show that in the past 12 months, independent miners have mined only 20 Bitcoin blocks through CKpool, averaging one block every 18.7 days, with the longest interval reaching 58 days.

It's worth noting that despite the continued increase in Bitcoin network difficulty, CKpool independent miners have repeatedly pulled off "high-risk, high-reward" feats over the past year. For example, in December, a miner with approximately 270 TH/s won a $284,000 reward with a 1 in 30,000 probability; and in February, a miner successfully mined a block worth $200,000 using approximately $75 of cloud computing power.
