PANews reported on May 6 that according to The Block, the privacy blockchain project Tari Labs officially launched the mainnet and launched the desktop mining application "Tari Universe" for ordinary users. The platform adopts a joint mining mechanism with Monero (XMR), and users can participate in XTM token mining through their personal computers, with an average daily mining time of more than 4 hours. 100,000 users have participated in the testnet stage, and the application has a built-in visual mining interface that can adjust the computing power allocation in real time. Tari continues the privacy protection concept of Monero, integrates the Mimblewimble protocol to achieve lightweight anonymous transactions, and innovatively introduces a reusable emoji address system. Its self-developed RandomX algorithm is specially designed to resist ASIC to prevent the occurrence of a computing power monopoly similar to Bitcoin mining.
Tari Labs was founded by Naveen Jain, an early contributor to Monero, and has received investments from institutions such as Blockchain Capital and Pantera, and has raised more than $14 million since 2018. The project attracts community participation through airdrop activities, requiring users to complete tasks such as social media interactions to obtain rewards.
