PANews reported on May 18 that according to News.bitcoin, at block height 897,120, the difficulty of Bitcoin mining increased by 2.13% to 121.66 T, but it was still lower than the peak difficulty after block 893,088. As of 2025, the Bitcoin network has experienced six difficulty increases, a total increase of 13.83%, and three difficulty decreases, a total of 8.61%. At the same time, according to the seven-day simple moving average (SMA) tracked by hashprice, Bitcoin's total processing power has fallen from a peak of 929 EH/s to 848.53 EH/s, a drop of more than 80 EH/s.
