PANews reported on May 18 that according to Cointelegraph, economist and author of "The Bitcoin Standard" Saifedean Ammous expressed his willingness to fund full-time developers to increase the cost of spam inscriptions on the Bitcoin network to curb its proliferation. He compared this problem to spam in emails, and believed that technical means should be used to make the generation of spam data more expensive, thereby reducing its impact on the network. Saifedean Ammous emphasized that combating spam data is not an act of censorship, but a legitimate means for node operators to maintain the health of the network. He also proposed to "abandon" the work of developers who specialize in developing spam data tools, and even hire external developers to suppress these systems.
