Cryptocurrency hacking losses to exceed $142 million by July 2025

According to PeckShieldAlert, PANews reported on August 1st that approximately 17 major crypto-currency attacks were recorded in July 2025, resulting in a total loss of approximately $142 million, a 27.2% increase from the previous month. CoinDCX, GMX, and BigONE were the top three platforms with the highest losses in July. The GMX hackers have returned approximately $40.5 million worth of crypto assets, including 10,000 ETH and 10.5 million FRAX.
