Mitosis Foundation: $MITO Genesis Airdrop Registration Open Until August 26th

The Mitosis Foundation, a modular liquidity protocol, announced that registration for the $MITO Genesis airdrop will open at 00:00 UTC on August 20th and run until August 26th. The airdrop represents 10% of the total supply of 1 billion $MITO. Participants can choose to claim all $MITO immediately or lock up $tMITO, redeeming it for 2.5x the $MITO and additional rewards after 180 days. Eligibility includes protocol testers, community contributors, NFT holders, and others. Failure to claim within the specified timeframe will result in disqualification. Exchange:

OKX will delist CATI, NMR and other leveraged currency pairs on August 27 and 28.

OKX announced the delisting of several leveraged cryptocurrency pairs: CATI/USDT, NMR/USDT, ICX/USDT, DGB/USDT, MEME/USDT, JST/USDT, and RVN/USDT. OKX suspended margin trading and demand lending services for these pairs at 6:00 PM on August 21st, and delisted the tokens between August 27th and 28th.

Gryphon shareholders will vote on merger with Bitcoin mining firm American Bitcoin on August 27.

American Bitcoin Corp (ABC), a Bitcoin mining company backed by the Trump family, is nearing completion of its confidential merger with Gryphon Digital Mining and listing on the Nasdaq. On July 31st, Gryphon filed a proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), formalizing the August 27th date for a shareholder vote on the proposed merger. The SEC also declared the Form S-4 registration statement outlining the transaction effective, a key regulatory approval that clears the way for the transaction to proceed.

The merger, first announced in May, will see ABC merge with Gryphon, a Nasdaq-listed bitcoin mining company under the ticker symbol "GRYP." To prepare for the transaction, ABC raised $220 million in private equity last month.

South Korean crypto exchanges Upbit and Bithumb announced that members of the Korea Digital Asset Exchange Association (DAXA) plan to terminate trading support for Pundi AI (PUNDIAI), citing concerns that the "explanatory materials provided by the foundation regarding the designation of the project as a Trading Alert Project are insufficient to address the project's concerns. Following a comprehensive review of the project's legality, sustainability, and security, it was determined that the project did not meet the criteria for maintaining trading support, resulting in the decision to terminate trading support." Both Upbit and Bithumb will terminate trading support for PUNDIAI on August 28th.

Hong Kong's Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) have jointly launched a public consultation on a regulatory regime for virtual asset trading and custody service providers. The proposed regime would empower the SFC to license and supervise virtual asset trading and custody service providers, and enforce relevant regulations. The SFC would also be responsible for setting compliance standards for these two important service providers, ensuring robust investor protections and maintaining market integrity based on the principle of "same business, same risks, same rules." The deadline for public comment is August 29, 2025.

Bitcoin L2 network Zulu Network has transitioned to an AI project, with the mainnet and related services suspended on August 30th.

Zulu Network, a Bitcoin Layer 2 network, announced its transition to the AI sector, focusing on decentralized AI models, AI-driven smart contracts, and the integration of blockchain and AI. Former OpenAI expert Ishant Singh has joined the team as Director of Strategic AI to drive protocol development. Zulu plans to leverage BNB chain liquidity support. The mainnet and related services will shut down on July 30, 2025, with operations suspended on August 30. Future restarts will be determined based on demand.

Sonic Labs releases "US Expansion and TradFi Adoption" proposal: Proposes to issue $150 million worth of S tokens, voting will end on August 31st

Sonic Labs has released its "US Expansion and TradFi Adoption" proposal. This governance proposal outlines plans to establish Sonic USA, an entity dedicated to managing the protocol's entry into the US financial system. Sonic Labs seeks community approval to pursue several strategic initiatives. These include: establishing regulated exchange-traded products (ETPs/ETFs) to bring mainstream investors into the Sonic Labs ecosystem; integrating BitGo's custody solutions to ensure compliance and security standards consistent with US institutional requirements; and exploring Nasdaq PIPEs and potential IPOs to facilitate Sonic Labs' access to traditional stock markets.

The proposal authorizes the issuance of $150 million worth of S-Tokens, comprised of a $50 million ETF allocation, a $100 million Nasdaq PIPE, and the issuance of 150 million S-Tokens, to bolster Sonic USA's capital base. This allocation will support infrastructure development, regulatory filings, and the resources necessary to scale operations in the most regulated financial environment. The proposal will be voted on until August 31st.
