PANews May 16 news, according to the Financial Times, US President Trump said in a meeting with business executives in the UAE on Friday that the United States may unilaterally set new tariff rates on many trading partners instead of reaching agreements with all trading partners. Washington will impose new tariffs "in the next two to three weeks." Trump added that Treasury Secretary Bessant and Commerce Secretary Lutnick will "send letters basically telling people how much they need to pay to do business in the United States." Trump said that although there are "150 countries" who want to reach an agreement, it is "impossible to meet with all countries."
