Bybit theft brought THORChain $2.91 billion in trading volume and $3 million in fees

According to PANews on February 27, according to monitoring by on-chain analyst Yu Jin, the winner of the Bybit theft incident is not only the hacker, but also THORChain: the hacker's money laundering brought THORChain US$2.91 billion in transaction volume and US$3 million in handling fee income.

The main way for Bybit hackers to launder money is to convert ETH into BTC through THORChain. This has brought a huge amount of transaction volume and handling fees to THORChain. It has also driven up the price of THORChain's token RUNE.

Transaction volume: Before the hacker started to launder money, THORChain's average daily transaction volume was around $80 million. Then, starting on the 22nd, the hacker began to launder money, bringing THORChain a transaction volume of $2.91 billion in 5 days, an average of $580 million per day.

Fees: $2.91 billion in transaction volume brought THORChain $3 million in fee income.
