PANews reported on May 28 that Polymarket's VP of Engineering, Josh Stevens, responded to The Information's report that "Polymarket plans to require users to complete KYC due to compliance risks," stating that the report is inaccurate. He explained that the company is rolling out a new beta product, requiring KYC only for a limited number of trial users during the testing phase. No KYC requirements have been added to any part of the existing Polymarket website. Once the product's testing phase ends, KYC will no longer be required.
Polymarket denies mandatory KYC: Only beta products have this requirement for some trial users.
