CoinGecko report: Perp CEX trading volume reached $85.3 trillion in 2025, with DEX share rising significantly.

PANews reported on May 21st that, according to a CoinGecko report, the total trading volume of crypto perpetual contracts on centralized exchanges (CEXs) reached $85.3 trillion in 2025. However, in the first four months of 2026, the average monthly trading volume of the top 11 perpetual CEXs has decreased from $7.11 trillion in 2025 to $4.69 trillion, a drop of 34%. Among them, BingX's market share rose from 3% to 5%, while Bitget's average monthly trading volume fell from $740.62 billion to $287.08 billion, a drop of over 60%. During the same period, the average monthly trading volume of the top 12 perpetual DEXs rose from $1.5 trillion in 2024 to $6.38 trillion in 2025, and is expected to remain at the same level or even surpass that in 2026. Perpetual DEXs now account for 13.5% of total open interest, with Hyperliquid as a representative, driving the increasing weight of decentralized perpetual trading in the overall market.
