Usman Ahmad, CEO of Zodia Markets, a cryptocurrency trading platform owned by Standard Chartered, has resigned.

PANews reported on April 2nd that, according to Bloomberg, Usman Ahmad, CEO of Zodia Markets, Standard Chartered Bank's cryptocurrency trading subsidiary, resigned in early March. Nick Philpott, formerly head of Zodia's partnerships, has taken over as interim CEO. Ahmad had held the position since Zodia Markets' inception in 2021. Standard Chartered Bank has recently been expanding its digital asset business, including plans to establish a prime brokerage firm for cryptocurrency trading, offer spot cryptocurrency trading to institutional clients, and potentially become one of the first institutions to obtain a stablecoin issuance license in Hong Kong. Last summer, Standard Chartered diluted its stake in Zodia Markets from 84% to 60% in a funding round.
