Circle and NVIDIA-backed Cassava have reached their first partnership in Africa to promote USDC cross-border payments.

PANews reported on March 24th, citing Bloomberg, that Circle Internet Group and Sasai Fintech, a subsidiary of Nvidia-backed Cassava Technologies, have reached their first collaboration in Africa. Sasai Fintech will integrate the USD stablecoin USDC into its Sasai remittance app, which covers approximately 30 African markets, supporting both local and cross-border payments. Cassava founder Strive Masiyiwa stated that this move will expand business opportunities for Africa's mobile-first digital economy and promote financial inclusion. The report notes that African businesses and individuals are increasingly using stablecoins to reduce the costs of cross-border remittances and payments, and to hedge against the risks of local currency depreciation and dollar shortages.
