Twitter celebrates its 20th anniversary with its first tweet, and its NFT was sold for $2.9 million.

PANews reported on March 22 that, according to cnBeta, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey posted the platform's first tweet, "just setting up my twttr," on March 21, 2006, marking its 20th anniversary. This tweet has been archived at the Computer History Museum and holds a separate Guinness World Record; its NFT version sold for approximately $2.9 million in 2021, further solidifying its status as an internet historical artifact.

Since then, Twitter has undergone several major changes: Elon Musk acquired it and renamed it X, which was subsequently merged into xAI, and xAI further became part of SpaceX. Currently, X maintains a strong influence among its core user groups, including the technology industry, but also faces competitive pressure from Bluesky and Meta's Threads.
