Google tests Gemini Mac app, introducing desktop intelligence features.

PANews reported on March 20th, citing Bloomberg, that Google is testing a dedicated Mac application, Gemini, with a small number of consumers, attempting to catch up with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude on the desktop. The application is currently in an early version, distributed only to users participating in the testing program. Features include generating images, videos, music, tables, and charts, supporting mathematical and information analysis, web page retrieval, conversation review, and document and media analysis uploads. Codenamed Janus, the application is also testing a feature called Desktop Intelligence, which, with user authorization, can read the screen content of Mac applications such as Calendar, providing Gemini with personalized context and improving task processing efficiency.
