According to PANews on March 6, Binance founder CZ published an article discussing the choice between L1 and L2 for AI projects. He pointed out that the core of AI projects is to use blockchain to optimize the AI economy rather than building a better public chain.
• L1 (first layer blockchain) provides higher sovereignty and decentralization, but requires running complete nodes and validators, which is a large workload and may form an isolated ecosystem.
• L2 (second layer blockchain) eliminates the complexity of maintaining infrastructure and can leverage existing tools such as DEX and derivatives markets, with almost no value loss to L1 (such as ETH).
CZ believes that L1 and L2 each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the key lies in how to provide a better economic and application environment for AI projects.
